Aesculus hippocastanum (Horse Chestnut) - Bareroot Available November to March - (40 -60cm)

One of the most beautiful deciduous trees whose large, candle-like white flowers in May are followed by shiny conkers in autumn. Big, palm-shaped leaves burst out of large, sticky buds which are one of the features of early spring. Ultimate height : 20 metres.

Planting Horse Chestnut
Will grow in most well-drained soils.
Ensure that the planting hole is wide enough to spread out the roots without bending.
Mulch around the sapling leaving a good couple of inches around the stem to ensure good air circulation.
